I discipline my body and bring it into subjection so I will obtain an imperishable crown and not be disqualified.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.  And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.  Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.  But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.    1Corin 9.24-26

Welcome to my blog.

It's taken me some time to get this set-up. I'm not very techie - Ha! I was wanting to start this blog as a journal of my running adventures. I started running over a year ago pretty much by accident. I had been working on losing weight and had started an exercise program. During that time I had fallen in love with the stair master. After about six months of using the machine I started having hip flexor problems and switched to the treadmill.  Well, Emil sort of tricked me into running on it.  I had it set for a nice brisk walk and Emil kept saying I needed to up the speed.  I was telling him how I was not a runner and he kept saying if I would only up the speed then I WOULD be a runner!  Well, he upped the speed on me and I've been running ever since.  Thanks, Em!
